Co2 Laser Cutter for Steel Wood Acrylic
The core working principle of CO2 laser cutters lies in the excitation and application of laser energy. Inside the laser tube, a mixture of CO2, nitrogen and helium gases is filled. When an electric discharge is applied, the CO2 molecules are excited to transition between vibrational and rotational energy levels, generating laser beams. These beams are then transmitted through an optical path system consisting of reflectors and focusing lenses, converging into a tiny high-energy spot on the material surface.
For non-metal materials, the laser beam rapidly heats the surface to the vaporization temperature, turning the material directly into gas which is removed by the exhaust system, forming a clean cut. For metal materials, the laser first melts the surface, and then the auxiliary gas (usually oxygen for carbon steel, nitrogen for stainless steel) blows away the molten metal, while the exothermic reaction between oxygen and metal can further increase the cutting speed.
